REIKI THERAPY COMPLIMENTS CANCER SUPPORT: Following positive results from clinical studies, many hospitals like Memorial Sloan Kettering in NY and Yale - New Haven in CT have been offering Reiki therapy to cancer patients and their caregivers. Together with conventional medicine, Reiki is provided in these and many other hospitals throughout the country, where both patients and medical practitioners agree that Reiki helps alleviate some of the symptoms associated with cancer. Reiki services for cancer patients and their caregivers have been shown to significantly reduce stress and anxiety during chemotherapy treatment, as well as its effects on caregivers. Patients report that after receiving a Reiki session—whether before, during, or after treatment—it eases the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, improves immune function, alleviates pain, promotes emotional healing, and enhances relaxation.

Reiki offers several potential benefits for cancer patients, including:

*Stress Reduction: Reiki promotes relaxation, which can help alleviate stress and anxiety associated with    cancer diagnosis and treatment.

*Pain Management: Studies indicate that Reiki can effectively reduce pain levels in cancer patients, significantly improving their overall quality of life.

*Emotional Healing: Reiki may enhance emotional well-being, helping patients cope with the psychological aspects of cancer.

*Improved Mood: Research indicates that Reiki can lead to mood improvements and reduced anxiety in patients undergoing treatment.

*Reiki for Caregivers: Reiki can significantly benefit caregivers by reducing stress, promoting emotional healing, and enhancing overall well-being, making it a valuable tool for self-care.

In addition, ongoing Reiki therapy in a group setting, such as a healing circle, can support the patient’s journey through the disease process on both a spiritual and emotional level. Given the rate of caregiver burnout, Reiki can also empower caregivers with a natural yet effective tool for self-care, providing comfort to their loved ones. Professional caregivers also benefit from Reiki therapy.

It was an honor and a joy for me to offer my "Angelic Reiki Healing Circle" to participants of The BOLD Program directed by Alyson Moadel, PhD of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Likewise, it was a delight to work with so many generous Reiki practitioners who brought the gift of healing to this circle of extraordinary and courageous women. Each participant in the circle received inspiring messages from Archangels and Guardian Angels, shared their reflections, and received Reiki healing. At the close of each session, participants received an inspirational booklet containing spiritual quotes, affirmations, mantras, and prayers for their heart, mind, spirit, and body.
